CRACKDOWN YIELDS 60 GUNS.(CAPITAL REGION)

Four months after it began, a joint effort between Albany and State Police to crack down on drugs and illegal guns in certain neighborhoods has netted 68 arrests and pulled 60 guns off the streets, officials said Monday.

``There's no way to quantify prevention, the number of victims saved,'' said Police Chief James E. Turley, motioning to an array of revolvers, sawed-off shotguns and semiautomatic handguns on a nearby table.
