FIRM SEEKS UPSTATE SITE FOR NEW PLASTIC CONTAINER PLANT.(BUSINESS)

LATHAM Ball Corp., one of the country's largest beverage container manufacturers, Tuesday said it would build a plastic manufacturing plant in upstate New York, creating at least 100 new jobs.

Although Ball officials declined to disclose the location of the plant, a site somewhere in the Capital Region may be under consideration. Ball already has a plant in Saratoga Springs, and one of the primary customers for the plant's soda bottle production is Pepsi-Cola Allied Bottlers Inc. of Latham.
