SA: Car sales remain strong
ADELAIDE, April 5 AAP - Sales of new cars and trucks remained strong in March withdemand topping 67,000.
The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) said today 67,824 new vehicleswere retailed in the month, down 1.6 per cent on the same month last year.
But the sales were also 4.6 per cent higher than in February this year.
On a year-to-date basis, sales reached 191,176 units in the first quarter of 2002,a six per cent improvement on the 178,953 sold in the first three months of 2001.
Holden was the top-selling car company in March ahead of Toyota and Ford.
