QLD: Police investigating drink spiking allegations

Queensland police are investigating the possibility of drink spiking at two Brisbane
nightclubs after three young women were taken to hospital overnight.

A police spokeswoman says officers are waiting for toxicology reports but it's too
early to say whether spiking's involved.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman says two 19-year-old women were taken to the Royal
Brisbane Hospital just after midnight, complaining of drowsiness at an inner-city night
club.

He says two hours later another young woman, who was at a different night club, was
taken to hospital complaining of similar symptoms.

There are unconfirmed reports that another two women were also taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, Queensland Drug and Alcohol Foundation chief executive officer BAB ALDRED
has told ABC Radio that it's important people keep their drinks within sight at all times.
